asbestos expertJack Glass, CIH, CSP, QEP, owner of J Tyler Scientific, has over 20 years of experience in the safety, environmental consulting and industrial hygiene field. He has been involved in construction safety and health issues involving some of the largest construction projects and in small residential issues. He has overseen site safety in electrical construction, high rise office buildings, resorts, and homes. His national reputation has allowed him to live and work in numerous locations and conditions. He has been located in the Northern Plains, South Pacific Islands, Caribbean Islands, Gulf Coast, and the east and west coasts of the United States.

While working in the US DOD Pentagon, he assisted in the formation of EHS Management systems, policy programs and pandemic response protocols. His responsibilities with Hillmann Environmental Group required him to respond to many local and national scale emergencies. His involvement in the 9/11 disaster response initiated within 24 hours of the event. He has since been asked to provide litigation support on various issues related to the response and recovery efforts including testimony to New York City Council.

In addition, he is responsible for the management, growth and profitability of the EHS division of Hillmann and oversees the corporate risk management program and federal compliance efforts. During his time with the University of North Dakota, he was responsible for controlling and reporting all safety and Workers Compensation issues. He was responsible for implementing many aspects of the University’s Risk Management Program, and maintaining compliance with the insurer’s risk management protocol. As a University Administrator and faculty member, he interacted at every level of the institution from students to the President.

He has designed comprehensive health and safety compliance programs, provided employee training, conducted process hazard analyses, and performed plant-wide inspections for compliance and hazards. He has conducted plant-wide and process-wide safety and industrial hygiene audits encompassing regulatory compliance, employer liability, and worker satisfaction. His experience includes studies in construction safety, microbial contamination, fire safety, noise, toxic exposures, emergency equipment, S.O.P. implementation, superfund oversight, emergency response, industrial ventilation and plan/specification design.

He has written and presented training courses, keynote addresses and seminars on industrial hygiene, safety and environmental issues. His training experience includes the creation and presentation of worker health and safety courses for compliance with OSHA requirements. He has also conducted numerous indoor air quality investigations, property transfer investigations and has directed underground storage tank removals.
